Welcome to Roxbourne Park
Roxbourne Park is situated in the south west of the London Borough of Harrow, with a small part falling in the neighbouring borough of Hillingdon (but managed by Harrow).
Our tree-lined park is bounded to the north by the Metropolitan Railway line between Rayners Lane and Eastcote, to the south west by Field End Road, and it straddles the southern part of Cannon Lane.
The Yeading Brook runs north to south along the eastern edge of the park and the Roxbourne Rough nature reserve adjoins the park in the north-west, vested in Harrow Nature Conservation and looked after by Friends of Roxbourne Park (FoRP )volunteers.
Many park users walk from Eastcote, Pinner and Rayners Lane, use train or bus stops nearby, and our car park gets packed for Save Sunday Music in the Roxy Pavilion, held every other week.

The Harrow and Wembley Society of Model Engineers train rides on summer Sundays, opposite Venue 5 on Field End Road, attract lots of visitors, dog walkers come from far and wide, and Pinnstars Football and Pinner Cricket Club teams are based here too!
Cafe/Facilities
The Roxy pop-up café is run by volunteers in the pavilion, and is open during our public events, such as Save Sunday Music on alternate weekends, and ROXYfest which is held annually in September.
NOTE: Toilets are only available when the pavilion is being used.
Always available in the park are the following facilities:

But don’t forget the miles of walks to admire the hundreds of trees, the Yeading Brook and lots of wildlife and birds

What friends' groups do
Friends of Roxbourne Park (FoRP) was initiated in 2015 and became a constituted community organisation in 2016, to help to ensure that this beautiful haven remains available for us and future generations to enjoy.
We act as the eyes and ears of the council and the police, and we run various events “for the community, by the community.”
Please do contact us and join in the events, volunteer to help in some way, or simply enjoy a peaceful walk in beautiful surroundings in Roxbourne Park.

Occasional newsletters are emailed to members who have opted in and we also have a WhatsApp group called RoxyNews (you will have to contact us with your mobile number to join) as well as a Facebook page “Friends of Roxbourne Park”.
In the meantime, it may be old school, but we regularly use the 10 park notice boards to display long term community information and new upcoming events, so please check them out every time you pass.
What’s happening - exciting developments!
Earlier this year, after months of planning, the Yeading Brook Unbound project made some significant changes to the largely moribund river.
The aims, to breathe life into it, were:
clean up the river bed
open out the bank to allow more natural light through to the river itself
introduce bends and beaches to divert and move the water course
Introduce appropriate water plants.
Berms and deflectors have been anchored in the water, and trees which have been cut are piled up to provide natural environments for wildlife.
All that remains are interpretation boards to explain the works, although ongoing maintenance visits are being planned with The Conservation Volunteers (TCV).
Recently, we were asked to host an initiative from Harrow Council – Sketch the River. A small group of budding artists took up positions near the Yeading Brook and recorded their interpretations of water, trees and undergrowth.
Some of the pictures are on display in the pavilion.
Our annual Fun Day and Dog Show, Roxyfest, is on 6 September 2026. There will be a funfair for the kiddies, commercial and charity stalls, food village, tea and coffee with home made cake from the pavilion, 3 different music acts on the stage and of course our famous Fun Dog Show!
Starting at 11.30, until 5pm, it will ease the kids back into school and give the parents a bit of respite with the four-legged friends!
Free entry, with a bucket collection to show your appreciation for the bands.
And next – Roxbourne Park is in line for some renovation!
Harrow Council is investing loads of money in the borough’s parks, and we are looking forward to the following improvements:
updated and extended playground
new paths
flood prevention measures
much-needed work on the pavilion, which we use regularly.

The Belmont nature trail exists along the remains of an old railway line shut by Beeching in 1960s. Since then it has slowly re -wilded itself and has become home to an abundance of wildlife and plants. It is about a mile long and takes about 20 mins to walk it. It runs alongside Wealdstone cemetery and Byron park.

Bernays Gardens is a small walled garden in Stanmore. The garden is a quiet place to sit, relax, and admire the peace. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the gardens.

Harrow Weald Recreation Ground is in Harrow Weald. The park offers open space ideal for casual walks and informal games.

Canons Park is listed as Grade II on the Register of Parks and Gardens. The park has several listed buildings. The King George V Memorial Garden is a walled garden in the park. It was originally part of the duke's kitchen gardens.

Headstone Green Community Group (HGCG) is a local group, working together to look after the new 'Headstone Green' park, located just off Pinner View and Umpire View (previously known as St George's Playing Field).

Headstone Manor Park is located in North Harrow. The park provides over 50 acres of recreation grounds. We completed a full park restoration in 2021. This included new wetland to help with flooding in the area. There is also a footpath which goes around the whole park.
Headstone Manor is a significant scheduled monument. It is home to four historic listed buildings and a 14th-century moat. The museum will show you how Harrow became so unique. From the Stone Age to the arrival of the railways, Headstone Manor has seen it all.

Montesole Playing Fields has a range of amenities. It is a large open space with football pitches, tennis courts, and a multi-use games area. It also has a general children's area and allotment next to it.

Pinner Village Gardens are owned by the London Borough of Harrow, located in the borough’s Pinner South Ward on the outskirts of Pinner town centre, and have entrances from Rayners Lane, Compton Rise, Whittington Way and Hereford Gardens. They are a 10-minute walk from Pinner tube station on the Metropolitan Line and provide 6.58 hectares for informal recreation. The park is supported by the work of the Friends of Pinner Village Gardens.

Rayners Mead is located in North Harrow. There is access from Imperial Drive and Park Drive. There are two tennis courts and a children's playground.

Hatch End Playing Fields is located on Headstone Lane. The open space has two cricket pitches and football goals. There are car parking options on Uxbridge Road. You can also park by Hatch End's swimming pool and Harrow Arts Centre.

Roxbourne Park is located near Rayners Lane. There is a range of amenities at the park, including a miniature railway. In summer, children can enjoy train rides on it on Sundays. There is also access to Roxbourne Nature Reserve in the park.

Roxeth Recreation Ground was awarded Green Flag status in 2025.
Located to the south of Northolt Road in South Harrow with entrances off Kingsley Road. The recreation ground provides nearly 7 hectares of open space with football, bowls and cricket facilities. The bowls green is home to Roxeth Bowling Club.

It runs alongside Wealdstone cemetery and Byron park. These nearby open spaces and tall poplar trees attract parakeets, jackdaw and other interesting birds to this stretch. Foxes, voles, deer, hedgehogs and badgers have been seen along the trail.

West Harrow Recreation Ground is located on The Ridgeway. There is also a small car park and a coffee shop with a seating area. The park is the home ground for a few cricket teams and West Harrow Bowling Club. There is also a pre school in the park and a fitness boot camp.
