Key Information
Welcome to Headstone Manor Park
Green Flag Park Winner
Headstone Manor Park is close to Harrow and Wealdstone and Headstone Lane stations, and is an extensive park with several different habitats, flower beds, recreation areas, and the beautiful Yeading Brook (stream) which runs right through the park.
Historically, the area was farmland divided into individual plots, but today our large park (57 acres) provides plenty of green spaces, sport recreation grounds, children’s play area, and plenty of quiet areas to relax and enjoy nature.
Of special mention is the famous Manor House, Headstone Manor, which is a significant Grade 2 listed monument, which is right in the middle of the park surrounded by a beautiful moat, home to many ducks and geese right next to a lovely café run by the Museum.

As part of the full park restoration in 2021, there are several flat easily accessible footpaths which take you through and around the whole park including the Museum, the new Wetlands, and the Flood Defence Scheme.
These two innovations were created to help prevent flooding in the North Harrow area and to clean up water entering the moat and the Yeading Brook.
As a result, they have transformed the park encouraging many water birds to become almost permanent residents!
Café and Facilities
As part of the heritage complex, there is a lovely café and gift shop run by the museum as well as public toilets.
These are managed by the museum and are open during museum opening hours (and in the summer and during events, extended hours).
Become a member of the Friends
It is free to become a member of the Friends of Headstone Manor Park (FoHMP) at any time of the year, and if you are unsure, pop along for a taster session on Thursdays from about 0930 and talk to us whilst we are working. (You can easily spot us in our bright yellow polo shirts)
All equipment, tools and training are provided for you to undertake a variety of tasks alongside our friendly and resolute team of volunteers.
As an added bonus, we have use of a pavilion to hide from the sun and rain where we can sit and relax whilst having free tea, coffee, and biscuits at the end of the session.
What the Friend’s group do
Our aim is to improve the use of Headstone Manor Park through events, activities, advocacy, and improvement.
We carry out and promote both environmental upgrades and practical conservation in the Park, including monitoring the water quality of the Yeading Brook, which is part of the River Crane Catchment.
We continue to promote the park as being vital to the physical, mental and well-being for visitors and residents from different socio-economic and culturally diverse backgrounds of the area, and we have strong council support which has advocated local residents to get involved in running events and activities in the park
The FoHMP provides support with the day-to-day management of our park and open spaces, as well as providing a year-round active adult and family friendly series of nature themed and crafting activities.
Support includes:
Collecting litter
Cutting back overhanging and encroaching branches and brambles to ensure the footpaths are kept clear
